KJZZ - In August 2013, I interned for KJZZ, Phoenix's NPR station. I pitched and produced more than 30 stories for air. Topics included everything from ongoing wildfires to Sen. John McCain.

WLRN-Miami Herald News- From August 2011 through August 2012, I interned at WLRN-Miami Herald News. I started scanning business cards for my editor, but grew into a radio reporter - pitching and producing content for air.

New Times Broward-Palm Beach - I stumbled upon New Times Broward-Palm Beach when I applied for their food critic position in November 2010 A couple weeks later, I drafted a sample food blog post for the editor in charge of the food blog, Clean Plate Charlie. I freelanced for the blog for about a year, before taking a spring 2012 internship with the photo department. In March 2014, I started freelancing for their news blog, The Daily Pulp.

The New York Times Student Journalism Institute - From May 13 to May 28, I reported on breaking news, entertainment and sports from New Orleans. I amassed 12 bylines and two photo credits. - My first ever magazine byline. When "Linsanity" started to grow, I saw it was the most searched topic on Google, so after a weekend pitch to, my story on his top 10 nicknames was approved and ran the following Monday.

At the 2013 Online News Association conference in Atlanta, minority journalists in leadership roles across the country shared their perspectives on diversity at a meet-up which attracted almost 100 attendees. 
Florida International University student Luciana Page won Red Robin's Savory Scholarship Contest, for her burger recipe, Korean Kalbi BBQ. In addition to a $10,000 scholarship, she served her burger at this year's South Beach Wine and Food Festival Feb. 22 and may have her burger appear on Red Robin's menu later this year.

Online News Association - In October 2013, I attended the annual Online News Association conference in Atlanta as a member of the ONA 13' Student Newsroom. In addition to a video on newsroom diversity, I even interviewed WikiLeaks' spokesperson via Skype from Iceland.

American Association for the Advancement of Science - In February 2013, I attended the annual AAAS meeting in Boston as a National Association of Science Writers undergraduate travel fellow. I wrote a story for on citizen scientists from a session I attended during the conference.

High school workshops:

University of Miami Montage 2010 Summer Workshop - This three week long journalism workshop had me work on all aspects of journalism, from writing to videos. While this was one of my first attempts at photograph, my video work/writing also improved in the process. Out of the 10 multimedia packages produced, I worked on six of them.

Writing her way out of the heartache - 07/23/10

University of Alabama Multicultural Journalism Workshop - For the first time in 28 years, UAMJW added a website component to their workshop. I created, edited and managed this page -- putting up stories, photos, hyperlinks and more. My story was one of the longer pieces I have written to  date -- a 783-word feature on journalists affected by the April 27 tornado that ravaged Tuscaloosa. I also won the Dow Jones News Fund's $1,000 scholarship for my multimedia work during the program.

Pittsburgh Black Media Federation Frank Bolden Urban Journalism Workshop - In one week, I obtained two bylines and five photo credits, including the front page photo of one of Batman's vehicles from "The Dark Knight Rises," which filmed in downtown Pittsburgh. My primary story, a news article on PancreasFest 2011 -- a meeting of the best pancreas medical professionals from around the country, was an idea that spurred out of a welcome sign at Pittsburgh International Airport.
